A trip departing June 1 and returning June 10 has eight full days abroad. Both travel dates count as days of U.S. presence.

Calculations run in this browser. The tool sends no entries or results to a server.

Method & sources

Count the window from the calendar anniversary through the day before filing. Subtract full days abroad in that window, counting the date of departure and the date of return as days of U.S. presence.

Does the day count determine whether I can apply?

The day count addresses physical presence. USCIS reviews continuous residence and other requirements separately. Select the three-year path only if it applies to you.
